En Plein Air Days

A few days spent oceanfront is enough to inspire any artist. I completed three 12 x 12 plein air paintings and met some great people at each location. It was fun. Pure and simple. It was fun.
This particular piece is a spot on Aniso Trail at Refugio Beach.

Off the beaten path is a cliff overlooking the beach. The view changes from hour to hour, with fog, changes in sunlight...

As the school year starts to wind down, I'll be working on two series of paintings this summer. The first is a group of plein air paintings, ordinary places that inspire me, simple but profound at the same time.
The second is old houses in small towns...they fascinate me with their style and craftsmanship.
